Supporting Membership: Protecting Japanese Native Horses and Maintaining a Horse-Friendly Riding Facility

Japan’s Precious Native Horses

There are currently eight native horse breeds remaining in Japan, with a total population of only approximately 1,600 horses.

At Washuba Horseland, we live together with seven horses, six of which are Hokkaido native horses known as “Dosanko.”

Our mission is to cherish the life of every individual horse and to help preserve these precious Japanese native horses for future generations.

At our riding facility, we are dedicated to protecting and nurturing Japan’s native horses while providing a riding environment where the welfare and well-being of our horses always come first.

Our Three Commitments to a Stress-Free Life for Our Horses

  • Natural Horse Care:

Our horses spend the entire daytime freely grazing and living outdoors, and return to their stables only at night. This provides them

with a natural and low-stress environment where they can live comfortably.

  • Building a Strong Bond of Trust:

By allowing our horses to live freely and comfortably, they grow into gentle, friendly horses that enjoy interacting with people and are

able to coexist peacefully with humans.

  • Limiting Working Hours:

We do not put profit before the well-being of our horses. We carefully limit the amount of time our horses spend carrying riders each

day in order to reduce fatigue and physical strain.

Maintaining the healthy and comfortable lives of our horses, as well as preserving thisideal environment, requires considerable ongoing expenses.

In order to continue our activities in a sustainable way without putting profit first, we are now inviting people who share our vision to become Supporting Members.

Your generous support will be carefully used for essential expenses such as feed, veterinary care, and the maintenance of facilities and a rich, comfortable environment for our horses.

We sincerely hope that you will join us as a partner in protecting the future of Japan’s precious native horses.
